The Global Open University seeks a dynamic and innovative team with the vision, academic expertise, and administrative experience to establish and lead TGOU, a new private university in Zambia that is envisioned to be the most prestigious University of Africa and a leading institution of higher learning in the world. We are seeking resumes from candidates for the following senior management, administrative, and teaching positions:
The following positions are staff positions of the University:
  • Head of Departments
  • Registrar
  • Director of Admissions
  • Student Advisors
  • Faculty (Junior and Senior Positions)
    1. Business Management and Entrepreneurship
    2. Leadership and Ethics
    3. Mathematics and Statistics; Economics
    4. Communication (media studies, journalism, media technology)
    5. Information Technology (software engineering, computer science, management information systems, systems and database management, and networking)
    6. Natural Sciences (geology, environmental science, physics, chemistry, and biology)
    7. Humanities (art, comparative literature, music, philosophy, and interdisciplinary humanities)
    8. Social Sciences (history, political science, sociology, psychology, and anthropology)
    9. Comparative Religions and Theology.
Administrative Support and Staff
  • Administrative support positions, managerial, secretarial and clerical, are available.
 
General Requirements for all positions:
Successful candidates for all positions should have :
  • a thorough understanding of the challenges and significance of building a new higher education institution in Zambia
  • an ability to interact effectively with both the University community and the broader communit
  • a commitment to academic integrity, civility, and collegiality in a community of learners
  • initiative, energy, flexibility, and creativity. Experience in Africa or other parts of the developing world is a plus.
In addition, successful candidates for senior management positions will have at least five to seven years of experience in comparable positions, preferably in an academic setting
  • superior management and supervisory abilities
  • effective organizational, decision-making, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Applicants for positions will be expected to have the appropriate academic credentials (terminal degree preferred), as well as successful post-secondary teaching experience.
