Doctorate Degree Program
 

Those completing the Master's Degree in their respective fields will also be encouraged to get admitted to the Higher Degree Programs like Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D), Doctor of Literature (D.Litt.), Doctor of Science (D.Sc.), Doctor of Laws (LL.D), Doctor of Theology (Th. D), Doctor of Education (Ed.D), Doctor of Divinity (D.D.), Doctor of Business Administration (DBA).

Application Forms for admission to the above mentioned Higher Degree Programs are available from the office of The Registrar of the University.

 

For Ph.D Program:

Candidates above 25 years of age and having expert knowledge of the subject in which Ph.D. admission is sought provided meeting other requirements of the course can apply for Ph. D. program.
 
Step 1
  • Fill in the Admission Form carefully.
  • Enclose your birth certificate along with copies of all the certificates and testimonials regarding educational attainments.
  • Mention the topic and subject of your Ph. D work to be initiated.
  • Enclose a synopsis of the research work and the methodology to be adopted for completing the research work for the award of Ph.D.
  • Paste one photo on the Admission Form and enclose three extra.
  • Mail the above mentioned documents in an envelope the following

Step 2 :
  • Wait for the response from the University regarding the receipt of your Admission Form and related documents.
  • The University will process and evaluate the Application.
  • If the topic and the synopsis are approved, you will get a favorable intimation regarding registration as a Ph.D Scholar.
  • If any modification in your topic / synopsis / methodology is required, you will be intimated accordingly. The final registration will take place after the receipt of the modified proposal.
 
Step 3 :
  • Candidates whose Admission Forms have been approved will receive a Letter of Confirmation with a note for paying the Registration Fee as mentioned below :
  • All registered scholars will be collecting data and conducting the research at their respective place of work for preparing a Ph.D thesis. Candidates will be provided a guide / supervisor for their work or they can have one of their own choice if they so like, provided approved by the University. If they are not able to have a guide because of the uniqueness of the topic or any other reason, they will be working on the topic independently with a coordinator from the University.
 
Step 4 :
Periodical Progress Report
  • The Ph.D Scholars shall submit their progress regarding their research and preparation of the Ph.D thesis every three months.
  • The minimum time required for preparation of the Ph.D Thesis is two years. There is no maximum time limit. However in exceptional cases the Ph.D Thesis may be accepted by the University if the Scholar shows the proof of the research work initiated earlier and substantiating the urgent need for submission of the Thesis within two years from the date of registration.
 
Step 5 :
Submission of Ph.D Thesis
  • The registered Ph.D Scholars will be submitting their Doctoral Thesis in three copies duly bound along with the following:
  1. Recommendation of the guide / supervisor if the Scholar has prepared the Thesis under such guidance. The guide / supervisor must enclose the names of at least two examiners from the same locality (City / State).
  2. If the Scholar has had no guide or supervisor, the/she will send the names of experts of the subject / topic of Ph.D Thesis submitted by him/her.
  3. Three copies of the Thesis and other documents / papers must be submitted through Registered Post / Air Mail under registered cover for safer delivery only or by hand.
 
Step 6 :
Examination and Viva Voice
  • The Ph.D Scholar may be required to defend the Thesis before the Examiners to be appointed by the University preferably nearer to the place of work of the Scholar. The decision of the University regarding the appointment of the Examiners and the declaration of results will be final and binding on the Scholar.
  • On the basis of the evaluation of the Dissertation and the report of the Examiners regarding the Scholar's performance, the University will declare the results for the award of Ph.D. If the Examiner suggests some changes or modification in the Thesis, the same will be completed by the Scholar.
 
Step 7 :
Award of Ph.D Degree
  • The successful Scholars after declaration of results in their favor will be conferred with the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) with emphasis on a particular area based on the topic of their research work.
  • The Ph.D Degree Certificate will be dispatched to them along with the notification regarding the results of the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D).
 
Step 8 :
Convocation and Annual Meet
  • The University will also be inviting the alumnus for Convocation and Annual Meet to take place in its University Campuses.
